Hi, I am Ayako.


I’m a Vancouver-based photographer drawn to honest connection and the moments that can’t be repeated. I photograph intimate weddings, surprise proposals, and engagement sessions, as well as maternity and family stories. My approach is relaxed and personal, with gentle guidance that leaves room for genuine laughter, happy tears, and everything in between.


Originally from Japan, I now call Vancouver home. Years ago, I played jazz piano in university bands and sessions, which taught me to listen, respond, and appreciate the beauty of an unfolding moment. I later spent over a decade as an Early Childhood Educator in Vancouver, where I learned how to connect with people and help them feel at ease. Both experiences continue to shape the way I photograph today.
